Meet me at the Equinox

Besides… the more time I spend with you, the more human emotions seem comprehensible to me. I’m discovering that I can sympathize with Heathcliff in ways I didn’t think possible before. ~Edward Cullen

Importance of Visualization

"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions." Albert Einstein

The past week I have been reading a book by Jack Canfield called The Success Principles. The concepts in this book are so inspirational and thought-provoking. I truly encourage any person with hope for a more successful career and personal satisfaction to read this book.

There are many encouraging ideas in this book; however, I chose just one I would love to share with others. Jack Canfield discusses the importance of visualization to our success as individuals and suggests we spend at least 20 minutes a day- in peace and quite- with eyes closed- visualizing the life we want. He also stresses how important it is to make these desires specific. See yourself at your ideal body weight, dressed in a way that expresses your personality, working at a job that inspires and excites you, living in your dream home, driving your dream car, and sharing your life with an adoring spouse or partner. The reasoning behind this daily visualization is, subconsciously, you will begin to become this person you aspire to be. If you believe you are confident, unique, and worthy this will shine through to others as well. You will be more outgoing, take more risks, and reach out of your comfort zone to achieve more and more. Believing you have already achieved greatness will encourage you to make the daily choices you need to make to get there! Never be ashamed of wanting a beautiful life. It takes hard work, but you can create it!

"Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone."
— Robert Allen

So, to begin this exercise we are supposed to create a dream board. The dream board should be a collage of images that embody the life you imagine for yourself. Here are some images from my dream board:). If you decide to make one- I would love for you to share it with me. Jack Canfield says it is important to state all your dreams as if they are already reality in order to train your subconscious! So say, "I AM" not "I WILL."

I am in love with and lucky enough to have an amazing relationship with my husband. I aways put him first over all others and appreciate his love.

I teach dance and continue to learn more about the art as time passes. It is a part of who I am.

I own a studio like this...

I have a very thin and healthy physique. I will not eat junk food or put things in my body that aren't nutritious. (Eeeek, that was hard to even say, LOL!!)

I live in a clean, welcoming, creative and unique home filled with love, laughter, and art!

I drive a Mercedes G Series- for it's safety features OF COURSE... ;)

Evan and I vacation here and drink wine and enjoy beautiful scenery.

I prioritize creativity and hobbies all of my life.

We live happily ever after.
My dreams in life involve love for my family, finding a career I love and enjoy waking up for every morning, and learning more each and everyday. Let me know if you make a dream board! I would love to see it!

What Does Your Art Say about YOU !?

Don't pay any attention to what they write about you. Just measure it in inches. - Andy Warhol

Art is a wonderful part of life as it allows us to express what we feel inside. Different works of art evoke different emotions in different people.

Edgar Degas was French artist famous for his work in painting, sculpting, printmaking, and drawing. Degas is considered an impressionist. The Impressionists painted the realities of the world around them using bright colors, concentrating primarily on the effects of light, and hoping to infuse their scenes with immediacy.

What kind of personality types do you think are drawn to this style? I would envision this in a traditional home with lots of dark wood furniture. I would see more conservative individuals expressing themselves with Degas' work.

I could see Degas art in a home like this...

And the person who lived here and chose this art, would dress like this...

What do you think?

Next...

Marc Chagall was born on July 7, 1887 in Vitebsk, Russia. painting styles are Expressionism and Cubism. In his paintings, he often painted violinists because he played the violin and also in memory of his uncle, who also played. He was also famous for his paintings of Russian-Jewish villages.

What personality types do you think are drawn to this type of work? I think fun, free spirited, unique people.

I see this style in a house like this...

And the person who lived here and chose this art, would dress like this...

Next...

R. Kenton Wilson was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Nelson paints landscapes, figures, and architecture bathed in light. His goal is to idealize the ordinary with the intention of engagement. This is currently my mom's favorite artist! I see people with this taste as feminine, intelligent, and quiet.

And the person who loves this art i.e MY MOM :) ..would decorate her den like this..

And dress like this...

And last but not least.... my favorite :) .... Jackson Pollock

My dream room would have the previous painting on the wall in this room :)...

And look like this of course- ME:) ...

I think being able to express ourselves through music, art, and writing is just amazing:). What art(s) express your personality?

Collecting Hearts

Once upon a time, there was a quaint little cabin in the middle of the woods, and inside the cabin lived two little girls: Rose and Lily.

Early one morning, as the sun peeked through the curtains, Rose asked Lily, “Are you ready?”

The girls leapt out of bed to get dressed. Each little girl grabbed a bucket that was next to the fireplace. They danced out of the front door into the cold, winter air with buckets in their hands.

Only a few steps into their journey they came upon a little bird who was whistling a beautiful melody. “Why hello little bird,” whispered Lily.

“Good morning,” said the bird. “Where are you little girls going?”

“Well we are going to collect hearts, of course!” answered Rose. “Won’t you keep whistling that lovely tune?” asked Lily.

The little bird looked down at his feet and sighed. “What is wrong little bird?” asked Lily. “I am sad and alone. This land has no warmth, no color, and I hear no music-not even when I whistle,” the little bird answered.

Rose and Lily were very confused. What did the little bird mean no warmth, color, or music? They had just heard his beautiful song! “Silly little bird, I do not know what you mean, but if you collect hearts with us, then you won’t be alone,” said Rose.

In this land, all of the rocks were shaped like hearts. “My bucket is filling up with so many hearts, Lily!” said Rose. The little bird had hearts under each wing and one in his beak.

“Silly little bird, I will share my bucket with you Lily,” giggled.

The little bird became very quiet and took several steps backward.

“Little bird, are you okay?” asked Rose.

“I think so,” said the little bird. “I do not feel cold as I did before. My body feels warm.”

“Come little bird, you can rest on my shoulder while we search for more hearts,” said Lily.

They had only gone a short distance before they came upon a leaf dancing in a meadow. As soon as the leaf noticed it had an audience it stopped dancing.

“Please don’t stop dancing,” Lily begged.

“I am tired of dancing,” said the leaf. “I am sad and alone. This land has no warmth, no color, and I feel no joy- not even when I dance.”

“Silly leaf I do not know what you mean, but you should collect hearts with us and then you won’t be alone,” said Rose.

They found so many hearts they had nearly filled both buckets to the top!

“I think we have room for one more,” Lily shouted!

The leaf twirled through the snow and over to Lily to place the final heart in the bucket. Then, he became very quiet and took several steps backward.

“Little leaf, are you okay,” asked Rose?

“I think so,” said the leaf. “I do not feel cold as I did before. My body feels warm.”
Lily and Rose looked at one another and shrugged their shoulders.

“Little leaf, it is getting dark and our buckets are full. Will you help us fly home on your back,” asked Rose? “The little bird can only carry one of us.”

The little leaf flew through the wind and landed softly on the snow. The little girls, with their buckets wrapped tightly in their arms, hopped on to little bird and little leaf to fly home.

The air was cold, but they kept one another warm. When they arrived home, the little bird tried to whistle his tune as he did earlier that morning. He stood up very suddenly. He looked very startled! Rose and Lily laughed again.

“Little bird, you are so funny and so strange. What is the matter?” the girls asked.

“I have lived in this land all my life, and I have never been able to hear my own whistle until now!”

The leaf then stood up out of the snow and started dancing just as it had earlier in the meadow.

“I too felt warmth in my heart today. I too see colors all around, and I now feel joy when I dance,” the leaf said!

“Perhaps, you just needed to collect some hearts so that you could see and feel it too,” said Lily.

“What do you mean?” asked the little bird. “How can collecting little rocks help me see, hear, and feel?”

“Not the rocks,” said Rose. “Today we all collected one another’s hearts. When you make a friend, you collect their heart and you must take care of it,” she continued. “Now that you have collected these hearts you may see, hear, and feel things that you never did before-even though they were there all along.”
